In one of the most perfect ways to honor the man behind T’Challa, episode 2 of What If…? is all about the difference that one good person can make in the universe. Whether you consider the amount of feels that come up from hearing Chadwick Boseman’s voice, the amazing turn for characters in this universe, or the fantastic potential for future tales in this universe, this episode is Marvel at its best!
SPOILERS AHEAD
With this episode starting where 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy starts, with Star Lord stealing the orb from the temple on Moragg, one could not anticipate the outstanding differences from this world and the sacred timeline. But wow, was I amazed. Having Thanos as a Ravager who is just part of the gang was quite the treat, and Korath is a hilarious addition to the team.
From start to finish this episode gives the audience so much story, with this T’Challa’s backstory, his Ravagers, the heist of Knowhere, and oh my gosh, the tease at the end of Ego finding Quill makes me very excited for this world to continue, I just hope that it is this season so we can have more time with this Star Lord.
In addition to great story, this episode is FULL of MCU, comics, and even other universe Easter eggs, because of course the Collector has his own Mos Eisley Cantina!
I cannot express enough how much I loved this episode and how much I am enjoying this show. It is an amazing time to be a Marvel fan! 5/5 Power Stones 💜
