This week the focus was on production more than writing. The podcast and short film took precedent this week. I have been working a lot on getting ready to film next week for the short. I also have been working to try and figure out how to reach a bigger audience with my podcast while I am still on summer break.
Because my writing took a back seat this week, I do not have a writing playlist to share this week. I am hoping that after we film next week I can bring more attention back to writing.
I also found this week that the waiting is getting a little difficult. I currently have submitted a short story to a magazine that I have not heard back from and I submitted a concept to a graphic literary magazine and will not hear back until early July. The waiting is definitely easier with other projects to focus on, however. One of the best pieces of writing advice that I ever heard was to never focus on one project. When you get one submitted move on to the next one. That way when you do hear back if it is bad news, it doesn’t hurt as much because you have moved on, and if it is good news, it is a pleasant surprise.
