I’m possibly the most anticipated episode of Marvel’s What If…?, fans are introduced to the MCU’s zombie universe. This episode has something for every type of fan: horror, jokes, and drama. This episode by far felt the “biggest” in terms of scope.
SPOILERS AHEAD
During the events of Infinity War, when Bruce finds himself back on Earth he finds not a broken up Avengers, “like the Beatles”, but rather a horde of zombies ready to decapitate him with a portal. The plot of the episode quickly picks up as Bruce meets the surviving heroes, who is almost a reverse of Avengers: Endgame, leaving us with many of the secondary characters of the MCU.
My favorite moment of the episode has to be the twist that Vision is feeding a zombie Wanda out of fear of losing his love. It is a terrifying reverse of the zombie Vision we saw in WandaVision.
The only thing possibly holding this episode back is it’s ending that does not give the audience resolution. We are left to wait for a sequel where we can discover the fate of the world after the arrival of zombie Thanos with five of the six infinity stones. This episode is a must see for any Marvel fan.
