TV Review: House of the Dragon – Episode 4

House of the Dragon is so good. This episode was definitely a slow burn with a lot of character work for our four leads. This week I think is really setting up the conflicts for the future. I just cannot state enough how the writing, production, direction, and acting all come together to create a wonderful piece of television every week with this show. I will say that the incest is making me a little uncomfortable.

SPOILERS AHEAD

This week’s episode was really about what happens behind closed doors for the Targaryens. The primary tension focuses around the will they won’t they of Rhaenyra and Daemon. The actors definitely are doing an amazing job of showing the chemistry and tension between the two characters, but just like with Jon and Dany in Game of Thrones, I kind of hate that this show is making me want this couple to happen. I can see that this show is setting up a storyline where Aegon and Rhaenyra are put at odds by Westeros as conflicting heirs to the throne when Viserys eventually dies.
