She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is the next big MCU project, hitting Disney+ just one week after I Am Groot. The show will premiere its first episode on August 17th, 2022. Now that fans have a little more clarification of the end of Phase 4 of the MCU, it really seems that Phase 4 is all meant to deal with the fallout of Avengers: Endgame in different ways. This show will of course show us Jennifer Walters origin as She-Hulk, but seems to let us know how Bruce has recovered from using the Infinity Gauntlet, and will give us a look at the everyday heroes and villains popping up in the world post-Endgame.
This trailer gives a great look at the fun tone of the show, including a fourth wall break from Jennifer; this is a staple of the character in her comics. In the trailer, we also get a look at Wong, Abomination, and Frogman in the show. Of course, the most exciting reveal comes at the end of the trailer, however, with Matt Murdock himself, Daredevil jumping into the action in his classic red and yellow suit. The Man Without Fear is said to pop up here before he goes on to have a bigger role in Echo in Summer 2023, and then of course his full return will be in Daredevil: Born Again in Spring 2024.
Also, they are silly characters in the comics, but I love that we are getting what looks like MCU adaptations of the Wrecking Crew, with the team of villains with magical weapons including a wrecking ball.
I know many have criticized the CGI from She-Hulk’s first trailer, but it looks like the VFX team has been hard at work, because it looks more detailed here. I am sure that by the time we get the show, things will look great.
This show looks like it has a little something for everything: world-building, comedy, cameos, women empowerment, and legal drama. With the show being described as a “half-hour legal comedy” I don’t know if this show is going to get Loki or WandaVision level internet chatter, but I think this will be a solid hit.
